Elise Kim – Epiphenomenon (one)

Van witte lange zweverige jurken, tot hemelse blauwe blousen en zwarte uitgesneden jassen.

Wij fashionista’s dromen allemaal over perfect draagbare outfits, mooie stoffen, prachtige vormen met een vrouwelijke maar toch krachtige uitstraling.

Gelukkig is er nu iemand die deze droom werkelijkheid maakt. Meet Elise Kim.

Elise Kim klinkt zelf ook als een sprookje.

Ze groeide op in Vietnam, ging naar school in Canada en voltooide verschillende modeopleidingen in Milaan, Amsterdam en Londen. Dat deze jonge ontwerpster ambitieus is, mag duidelijk zijn. Na haar afstuderen startte ze onder haar eigen naam het label Elise Kim.

Vandaag maakt ze haar eigen droom waar door te showen op Amsterdam Fashion Week!

Afgelopen week heb ik een kijkje mogen nemen in de studio van Elise Kim, voor een sneak preview van haar nieuwe a/w/2012 collectie die voort is gekomen uit haar grote inspiratie: dromen. Het was in één woord adembenemend.

De prachtige silhouetten, vormen en stoffen laten precies zien wie Elise Kim is.

Een rustig, vrolijk en lief maar sterk persoon, met een grote voorliefde voor stoffen. Deze stoffen maakt ze bijna allemaal zelf in het textielmuseum in Tilburg.

Het is een prachtige en sterke collectie. Mijn favorieten waren zonder twijfel de schitterende maxi jurken die tot op de grond vallen en de geweldige crèmewitte jas met handgemaakte details op de mouwen.

“Ik houd ervan om te ontwerpen voor vrouwen die houden van kwaliteit en die niet bang zijn om zich mooi te kleden”, aldus Elise Kim.

Ondanks de stress die komt kijken bij zo'n belangrijke show, blijft ze altijd positief ingesteld.

De droom wordt werkelijkheid, en dit is nog maar het begin…

Vogue Hommes International fashion editor Francesco cominelli , passed away at the start of October this year, leaving behind memories of his style, creative flair & sense of humor. Rip

About Francesco;
Cominelli was born in Brescia, Italy.
Being attracted by Art and Fashion at a young age he was drawn to studying Graphic Design in High School and later obtained a diploma in Photography at Milan’s prestigious European Institute of Design.
After school Francesco decided to try life as a New Yorker, interning at V magazine in New York City where he discovered his passion for styling. On his return to Europe he moved to Paris for a year to intern for Vogues Hommes International and study French.
In 2007 Francesco moved back home to Italy to work on his own fashion project that had been a long time in the making; a menswear line titled ‘Spazio Ludico’, made entirely of customized vintage pieces that he stills produces for special projects.

He then returns to Paris to work for Vogue Hommes International, with fashion Editor Anastasia Barbieri.
Francesco currently remains at Vogue Hommes International where he has been Fashion editor since 2009. He has also contributed with his unique styling flair to numerous international publications outside of Vogues Hommes International.

First of all; Who’s Oraclefox, and maybe you can describe your blog name?
Oracle Fox is my love child of inspiration and fashion indulgences that I love to share with everyone.

Where are you from, and what do you do?
I am from Southeast Queensland, Australia. I am an artist and fashion blogger.

Why did you start blogging and what has continuously motivated you to do so?As an artist I was always on the hunt for inspiring images for my art projects, which I used to squirrel away in various notebooks and computer files. I started Oracle Fox in August 2010 as a means of artistic expression. It also allowed me to share some of my interesting finds with others, at the same time making my own artistic processes more interactive.

What does fashion mean to you and where did you get your inspiration?
Fashion for me is about being confident to wear whatever you like, and to enjoy getting dressed up or just experimenting and having fun. My inspiration at the moment comes from people like Pip Edwards – accessories designer for Sass and Bide. I love her sense of style.I also love A young Australian surfer Sally Fitzgibbons - who is just an amazing and inspirational Aussie chic, and of course my friends, I have some really creative and talented friends.

I love fashion, art, photography and i love the thought of being able to share an open and creative mind with the world.

How would you describe your style?
Bohemian, american type of chick stuff, like.. stuff I could walk around in the desert with, but with a big city twist.

When did you first fall in love with fashion?
I practically chose what colthes to wear before I could even walk.

Zoals vele van jullie weten ben ik Grazia Insider. Daarom bij deze alvast een preview van de nieuwe Grazia die vanaf vandaag in de winkel ligt!

Je ziet vast de colorblocking trend al voorbijkomen hierboven, kleuren en items waar je absoluut niet onderuit komt deze zomer! Deze hebben we veel voorbij zien komen op de afgelopen fashion weeks! (bij o.a. Jil Sander!)
